#131 - Berklee Refuses Pay Hike | Just Can’t Get Into It | CDs Baby!

Greg’s joins us from the tour bus this week and kicks things off with some news from world’s most prestigious music conservatories. Adam Gautille, former hiring coordinator for Berklee School of Music, resigned after unsuccessfully advocating for the musicians and engineers he booked to be paid union wages. A large number of these professionals are former Berklee graduates with a lot of student debt….so this segment touches on a lot of hotly debated topics and we dive in head first. [WBUR Boston]

Song: Red Hot Chili Peppers - “Black Summer”

Jay has a great question for the group: “Name bands or artists you *want* to like (or have been told you should like) but you just can’t get into”. A great topic, however everyone names at least one band beloved by another, but also some dangerous waters to traverse. It’s a fun a ride :-)
Song: Clarence Carter - “Slip Away”

Finally Nick found a Rolling Stone piece attempting to argue that “…the CD Revival is Finally Here” & everyone laughs at the premise. Also, one of bands Jay just can’t get into happens to be the artist responsible for Nick’s song pick the week…Jay’s still not a fan…maybe next time! [Rolling Stone]
Song: Animal Collective - “We Go Back”
