Fifty-three years ago, on July 28 (1973), a festival was hosted outside Watside Glen by the Grateful Dead, the Allman Brothers, and The Band. Summer Jam at Watkins Glen sold 150,000 tickets for $10 each and then allowed the additional 450,000+ people that showed up to hear the show for free, setting a new Guinness Book Record. Jay would love to know why no one knows about this show.
