#321 - News with Nick | Three Artists for Thursday x2
Nick returns, a little sleep deprived, following the arrival of Christopher Guy Kline. Katie & the baby are doing great. He’s back with a News with Nick! Daniel Ek is out(ish), the FTC sues Ticketmaster, and Kneecap beats terrorism charges in England.
Song: Umphrey’s McGee - “Divisions”
Greg has four songs across three artists that he would like to share. First, by way of Alan Holdsworth, we learn the rule “every fusion band’s best album is live in Japan in the 80s.” Next we dabble with country/djent artist Bilmuri. Then we land on the latest two Tame Impala singles.
Songs:
Alan Holdsworth - “Letters of Marque (Live in Japan 1984)”
Bilmuri - “Better Hell (Thicc Boi)”
Tame Impala - “ Dracula”
Tame Impala - “Loser”
Jay intended to have a bird themed “Three For Thursday,” but couldn’t score a third. Instead we get some new Geese, a Goose track, and a handful of clips from Fred Armisen’s new foley album of sound effects.
Songs:
Geese - “Bow Down”
Goose - “Madalena”
Fred Armisen - “Band Soundcheck (Sound Guy and Band Agreeing Too Long)”
Fred Armisen - “Trying out Electronic Drums with Headphones on”
Fred Armisen - “Trying out a Distortion Pedal”
