#225 - Victory Kid | Curveballs | News with Nick
Greg catches us up on the past two weeks been subbing as lead guitarist for “Victory Kid.”
Song: Jawbreaker - “Fireman”
Out last week, André 3000’s New Blue Sun comes 17 years after the release of Outkast’s final album Idlewild. The new album is a complete divergence from André’s rap roots as it features 87 minutes of exploratory ambient instrumental music, with André in the role of flautist. This led Jay on a search for other artists that have released similarly unexpected albums, and he landed on a new segment he’s calling “Curveballs.”
Songs:
André 3000 - “I swear, I Really Wanted To Make A ‘Rap’ Album But This Is Literally The Way The Wind Blew Me This Time”
Willie Nelson - “Do You Mind Too Much If I Don’t Understand” (Country Man)
Paul McCartney - “Transpirtual Stomp” (The Fireman)
Stevie Wonder - “Earth’s Creation” (The Journey Through the Secret Life of Plants)
Pat Metheny - “Part 1” (Zero Tolerance for Silence)
